Services & specialties
Evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety.
I specialize in the approaches that research shows actually work — not generic talk therapy, but structured, targeted treatment designed to help you break free from the OCD cycle.
What I treat
OCD shows up differently for everyone. Whether your OCD looks like contamination fears, harm obsessions, relationship OCD, or purely obsessional intrusive thoughts — I have the training to help.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
The full spectrum of OCD — including contamination, harm, religious/moral scrupulosity, relationship OCD (ROCD), sexual orientation OCD (SO-OCD), health anxiety, and purely obsessional (Pure O) presentations.
Anxiety & panic
Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and health anxiety. I use evidence-based approaches to help you stop avoiding and start living.
Intrusive thoughts
Unwanted, distressing thoughts that feel out of character or deeply disturbing. You are not your thoughts — and treatment can help you stop fighting them.
Trauma
Past experiences that continue to affect how you feel, relate, and move through the world. Addressed with care, compassion, and evidence-informed approaches.
Relationship difficulties
Patterns in relationships that feel stuck — including ROCD, attachment anxiety, and the ways OCD and anxiety can strain connection with others.
Life transitions
Navigating major changes — new roles, loss, identity shifts — with support to build clarity and move forward with intention.
How I treat it
Every approach I use is chosen because it produces real, measurable results. Here is what each modality is and when I use it.
Exposure & Response Prevention
Gold standard for OCDERP is the most researched and recommended treatment for OCD. It works by gradually and systematically exposing you to feared thoughts, images, or situations — while resisting the urge to perform compulsions. Over time, your brain learns that the feared outcome is unlikely, and that you can tolerate uncertainty without needing to neutralize it.
Who it's for
Recommended for anyone with OCD. ERP is also highly effective for phobias, health anxiety, and panic disorder.
What to expect
Sessions are collaborative and paced. We build an exposure hierarchy together, starting with situations that feel manageable and working toward harder ones. You will never be forced into an exposure you are not ready for.
Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Especially effective for Pure OI-CBT targets the faulty reasoning that drives OCD — specifically the tendency to distrust your own senses and rely on imagination-based fears. Rather than focusing on the content of obsessions, I-CBT helps you understand why your mind generates these doubts and how to reconnect with reality and trust yourself again.
Who it's for
Particularly helpful for those who struggle with purely obsessional OCD, those who find traditional ERP difficult, or those who want to understand the 'why' behind their OCD.
What to expect
I-CBT is more cognitive and insight-oriented than ERP. Sessions involve exploring the reasoning style that fuels your OCD and building a stronger sense of your real self — separate from OCD's narrative.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Builds psychological flexibilityACT helps you stop fighting your thoughts and start living by your values. Rather than trying to eliminate anxiety or obsessions, ACT builds psychological flexibility — the ability to have difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them dictate your choices.
Who it's for
Useful alongside ERP and I-CBT, and especially helpful for clients who feel stuck in avoidance, struggle with self-compassion, or want to reconnect with what matters most to them.
What to expect
ACT sessions often involve values clarification, mindfulness practices, and learning to hold thoughts more lightly. It is less about fighting OCD and more about building a life worth living.
Internal Family Systems
Whole-person healingIFS is a compassionate, parts-based approach that helps you understand the different 'parts' of yourself — including the parts that protect you through anxiety, avoidance, or compulsions. IFS creates space for deeper self-understanding and healing, especially when OCD is entangled with trauma or shame.
Who it's for
Helpful for clients navigating trauma, shame, or a sense of internal conflict — and for those who want to understand themselves more deeply alongside OCD-specific treatment.
What to expect
IFS sessions are exploratory and compassionate. We work to understand the protective role that anxious or compulsive parts play, and to build a relationship with yourself grounded in curiosity rather than self-criticism.
